Cette matrice TFT est constitu\u00e9e de plusieurs couches minces de diff\u00e9rents types de mat\u00e9riaux. Au cours du processus de fabrication, les r\u00e9seaux de pixels sont souvent expos\u00e9s \u00e0 une \u00e9ventuelle contamination (poussi\u00e8re) ou \u00e0 des d\u00e9fauts.
