De gauche \u00e0 droite: Maximilian Schemmer, Pierre Pichon, et Lo\u00efc Lavenu (Source: www.institutoptique.fr)<\/em><\/p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff5100;\">Particularit\u00e9s du Ti\u00a0:Sa et de l\u2019Ytterbium pour les domaines industriels et scientifiques<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Les lasers femtosecondes \u00e0 fibre dop\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019ytterbium sont aujourd&rsquo;hui largement utilis\u00e9s dans le domaine industriel puisqu\u2019ils permettent de g\u00e9n\u00e9rer des impulsions \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques \u00e0 tr\u00e8s haute cadence, et donc de forte puissance moyenne. Cela permet, notamment, d&rsquo;acc\u00e9l\u00e9rer les processus de fabrication et d\u2019obtenir une meilleure productivit\u00e9. Dans le milieu scientifique cependant, la dur\u00e9e d\u2019impulsion de ces lasers (de 300fs \u00e0 1ps) est un point limitant pour de nombreuses applications. De ce fait, les lasers \u00e0 cristaux dop\u00e9s Ti-Sa qui g\u00e9n\u00e8rent des impulsions de moins de 30fs sont privil\u00e9gi\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff5100;\">Comment atteindre un taux de r\u00e9p\u00e9tition de 6.8 fs<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Le travail de Lo\u00efc Lavenu a tout d\u2019abord permis de r\u00e9duire fortement les dur\u00e9es d\u2019impulsion en sortie d&rsquo;amplificateur \u00e0 fibre dop\u00e9e ytterbium. Pour atteindre cela, l&rsquo;architecture laser fut d\u2019abord optimis\u00e9e afin de limiter l&rsquo;impact du r\u00e9tr\u00e9cissement spectral par le gain. Cette technique permet actuellement de g\u00e9n\u00e9rer des impulsions de 130 fs.<\/p>\n<p>Ensuite et dans le but d\u2019obtenir des dur\u00e9es encore plus courtes, une seconde technique de r\u00e9duction de la dur\u00e9e des impulsions a ensuite \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e en aval du laser. Elle consiste \u00e0 faire interagir de mani\u00e8re fortement non-lin\u00e9aire les impulsions lasers avec un gaz. Pour cela, cette interaction est g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement r\u00e9alis\u00e9e dans un capillaire creux rempli de gaz. L&rsquo;utilisation de cette m\u00e9thode a ainsi permis de g\u00e9n\u00e9rer des dur\u00e9es d&rsquo;impulsions de 15 fs. Cette solution reste cependant limit\u00e9e par son encombrement et sa transmission. Pour surpasser ces limites, une autre m\u00e9thode a \u00e9t\u00e9 sp\u00e9cifiquement d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e, et a permis de dupliquer ce principe dans une cellule multi-passage et ainsi de pr\u00e9server les param\u00e8tres incidents du laser (\u00e9nergie et puissance).<\/p>\n<p>Pour g\u00e9n\u00e9rer des dur\u00e9es d&rsquo;impulsions de quelques cycles optiques, Lo\u00efc Lavenu et l\u2019\u00e9quipe de Palaiseau ont \u00e9galement propos\u00e9 de combiner les deux architectures (capillaire et cellule multi-passage) \u00e9tudi\u00e9es en utilisant les avantages de chacune. Lo\u00efc Lavenu et l\u2019\u00e9quipe Yb :HR ont ainsi pu d\u00e9velopper l\u2019option ShortPulse du Tangerine, et mettre au point le nouveau module Compress. Ils ont ainsi rendu encore plus attractif l\u2019acc\u00e8s pour les scientifiques \u00e0 la technologie Ytterbium.
